Revelation 4:11
"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, and honour, and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created." Revelation 4:11 Why am I here? What is my purpose in life? So many people have asked questions like these and wondered what the meaning of life is. If we just evolved from apes and the world began with a Big Bang (as many claim to believe), then there would be no meaning or purpose to our existence. We would have somehow evolved ultimately from nothing, and this ball of nothing wouldn't have had any plan for us. But, praise God! That's not what happened! God is the Creator of the universe! He had a plan! He had a purpose! He knew each one of us before we were born (Psalm 139:15-16) and He knew what He wanted each individual to do in life. He may reveal that plan to us later in life if we follow His will for us. Man, as a whole, have been given the meaning of life, which is clearly stated in the Scriptures. According to Revelation 4:11, everything was created for God's pleasure; He wants His creation to glorify Him. Our role in this life is given to us through Ecclesiastes 12:13 - "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man." How wonderful it is that the Creator Himself tells us what His purpose is for us! In conclusion, our lives are meant to glorify God by fearing Him and keeping His commandments. So let's get out there and glorify God with our lives so we can fulfill the meaning of life!!

"The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works." Psalm 14:1 An atheist is a person who believes that there is no God. The Bible tells us of these kinds of people and describes them as being foolish, corrupt, and full of iniquity. Of course, they wouldn't believe that about themselves. Most atheists (but not all) seem to have the same beliefs as secular scientists. "The belief that there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason whatsoever into self-replicating bits which then turned into dinosaurs." And they think we're the idiots. They think we're close-minded for not even considering the theories they came up with, but in reality, the truth has been revealed to us through the beautiful creation of God Almighty. The Bible also reveals this to us very clearly. "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). The Word of God (written thousands of years ago) gave us (now known) facts before scientists even discovered them. Such facts are that everything we see is made up of invisible atoms (Hebrews 11:3), the Earth just floats there in space (Job 26:7), and the cycle of air currents (Ecclesiastes 1:6), etc. "Science expresses the universe in five terms: time, space, matter, power, and motion. Genesis 1:1,2 revealed such truths to the Hebrews in 1450 B.C.: "In the beginning [time] God created [power] the heaven [space] and the earth [matter] . . . And the Spirit of God moved [motion] upon the face of the waters." The first thing God tells man is that He controls of all aspects of the universe" (The Evidence Bible). Science is even in the very first verse of the Bible. You can visit here for more information on these scientific facts found in God's Word. The Bible has all the answers that anyone would ever need. I found an interesting quote that is actually pretty obvious - "If God didn't exist, neither would atheists." This is so true because without God, none of us would be here, not even atheists. Lots of atheists even argue back at this quote saying that we're not thinking logically for using it. There is a God (this isn't just a belief - it's absolute truth, He has proved Himself over and over again). God made all people. So...without God Who made everyone, there would not be anyone. Why can't atheists at least have this mindset - "I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't than to live my life as if there isn't a God and die to find out there is." They shouldn't have to think like this though. We should tell them the Gospel message and if they don't accept it then at least we planted a seed. That, in time, might be watered and eventually flourish into a zealous Christian. It is so sad when you think about how God's looking at His own creation and they're denying His very existence. We must go out there and not care what they think of us. They might think we're idiots who can't think for ourselves but we know the truth and must hold to it. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ" (Romans 1:16). Let's not care what they think about our beliefs. We aren't here to please the world but to please our Creator. May we show them the evidence of God's existence.
"All things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me." Luke 24:44 Old Testament prophecies, concerning Jesus Christ, fulfilled in the New Testament:
Prophecy - "He was oppressed, and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth." (Isaiah 53:7) Fulfilled - "And when He was accused of the chief priests and elders, He said nothing." (Matthew 27:12) Prophecy - "And He was numbered with the transgressors." (Isaiah 53:12) Fulfilled - "Then were there two thieves crucified with them." (Matthew 27:38) Prophecy - "Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14) Fulfilled - "His mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child." (Matthew 1:18) Prophecy - "My God, my God, why hast Thou forsaken me?" (Psalm 22:1) Fulfilled - "Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?" (Matthew 27:46) Prophecy - "They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture." (Psalm 22:18) Fulfilled - "And they crucified Him, and parted His garments, casting lots." (Matthew 27:35) Prophecy - "All they that see me laugh me to scorn...saying, He trusted on the Lord that He would deliver Him." (Psalm 22:7-8) Fulfilled - "And the rulers also with them, derided Him, saying, He saved others; let Him save Himself...and the soldiers also mocked Him." (Luke 23:35-36) Prophecy - "They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink." (Psalm 69:21) Fulfilled - "They gave Him vinegar to drink mingled with gall." (Matthew 27:34) Prophecy - "Bethlehem...out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel." (Micah 5:2) Fulfilled - "Bethlehem...and she brought forth her firstborn son." (Luke 2:4,7) Prophecy - "By his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for He shall bear their iniquities." (Isaiah 53:11) Fulfilled - "The Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many." (Mark 10:45) Prophecy - "Neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption." (Psalm 16:10) Fulfilled - "Neither His flesh did see corruption." (Acts 2:31) Prophecy - "He keepeth all His bones: not one of them is broken." (Psalm 34:20) Fulfilled - "But when they came to Jesus, and saw that He was dead already, they brake not His legs." (John 19:33) Also notice the similarities between Noah's ark and Jesus. The ark saved those inside from the flood just as Jesus saves those who accept Him from sin. So many people didn't believe that the Flood was coming just like so many people don't believe that they're living in sin. Jesus is our ark - may we rest in Him. So many prophecies from the Old Testament have been fulfilled. So many prophecies from the New Testament have been fulfilled and there are some that will be fulfilled in the near future. All of God's prophecies will be fulfilled. When He makes a promise, He is faithful to His Word. So many detailed prophecies have been accurately fulfilled. How can people even think that a man came up with the Bible? How could a man thousands of years ago so accurately make up prophecies that are being fulfilled in modern times? It's completely impossible without God. The Bible is written by men, but these men have been inspired by God. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God" (2 Timothy 3:16). We should believe everything that is in the Bible because it's all true. Thank the Lord for His faithfulness! He uses His prophecies to inform us of the past, present, and future. May we believe all prophecies given from God, for He tells us to "despise not prophesyings" (1 Thessalonians 5:20). There are still some prophecies that need to be fulfilled but some are being fulfilled right now (Matthew 24:3-13). "This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears" (Luke 4:21). |
