The Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) marks the homes of Christians with an "N" in Arabic. This is to show that Christians, or Nazarenes, live there. They had the choice to either convert or die, so they fled. Now some Christians are changing there profile pictures on social networking sites to the Arabic letter "N" to show that they stand with their brothers and sisters in Christ. The Facebook page, WeAreN, created a challenge to post your open hand with "N" on it and challenge other friends to do the same. It's supposed to be an open hand showing that you are open to help. Let's make this challenge more successful than the ice bucket challenge! We need to keep these persecuted Christians in our prayers and remember that we're bound with them (Hebrews 13:3) and when one member suffers then we all suffer (1 Corinthians 12:26). We also must pray for all these other people who are being persecuted, even if they're not Christians, because they're suffering too, but most importantly, they need to turn to the one true living God. Don't forget to pray for the ISIS and the other persecutors because they need to give their lives to Christ just as much as any other non-Christian. Even if only one persecutor will repent and trust in Jesus, it's still worth all the prayers. A soul is priceless (Matthew 16:26). |
